The F.A.G.S. was formed in summer 2024 in response to Fierté Montréal’s complicity in the pinkwashing of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Our first action was the disruption of Fierté’s shameful pride parade. We have since been involved in trans community defense organizing and celebrations of queer love and rage. We have also been in active solidarity with various other struggles.

We consider ourselves part of a political continuity stemming from the work of the first P!nk Bloc (2011-2016). We also galvanized the connections that led to the creation of our network through the pro-Palestine encampments in the spring of 2024. Thus, although we don’t always agree 100% on political lines, we consider the new P!nk Bloc Montreal, PinkBloc Quebec, the Nous ne serons pas sages campaign, RadPride, the Brûlances festival, Front Rose, and Divest 4 Palestine our siblings in the struggle. We also participate in the Drag Defenders coalition alongside the P!nk Bloc and Montreal Antifascist.
